History The Sign Factory is an electrical sign manufacturing, installation and service corporation. Jim Risher, president, started in the business as a three year old literally growing up on the shop floor of a sign shop. The Sign Factory, Inc. is the collective sum of multiple companies from mergers and acquisitions, with its origins in Missoula, Mt. in the form of B&B Sign Co. and in Kirkland, WA in the form of Northwest Neon and Plastic. Jim’s Parents Jim Sr. and Carolyn Risher purchased B&B Sign Company of Missoula, Mt. In 1971 the company was in its third year and was founded in 1968. The Risher family has been in the business to present. North West Neon and Plastic was purchased in 1998, It was founded and by Ted Miller and was purchased by Jim in 1998, Ted and two other partners started NorthWest in Kirkland, WA in 1964, and have long history of building the highest quality products at a reasonable price. This is the current location of The Sign Factory, Inc. In the summer of 1988 as Jim Jr. drove into the Seattle area from Montana he envisioned the need for a company that could design and manufacture signs from start to finish, “Turn Key” without the need for subcontracting part of the process. This process will give an advantage in brand consistency and pricing advantages of doing multiple locations. The company incorporates the capability to provide sign products throughout the US and Canada from our Kirkland, Washington facility. We offer wholesale production and project coordination on a regional and national basis. Major customers include; national retailers: Macy’s, Albertson’s, Safeway, US Bank, Bank of America, Supercuts, Hairmasters, Starbucks, Wells Fargo, local architects, property managers, commercial developers and local retailers. | Learn more about The Sign Factory |
